What is a Sales Tracker?

This guide will provide a quick overview on where, when and why to use a sales tracker in your digital marketing efforts.

TLDR;

Landing Trackers allow you to track multi-channel ROI with shortened links.

Sales Pixels can match the clicks on your landing trackers for ads, emails, SMS, etc to final sales.

What are Sales Trackers?

Tradable Bits Sales Trackers are a small piece of code or a "pixel" that is placed on the checkout pages of your ticketing or merch stores to track the fan conversion journey from start to finish. To get the most out of your sales trackers, be sure you have properly tested that the tracker is firing correctly before creating and reporting on your tracker stats.

How do Sales Trackers work?

Sales trackers do their best work in teams. Specifically, when teamed up with Landing Trackers.

Sales trackers are triggered when a fan makes a purchase. From there, our system will link the value of that purchase back to the original landing trackers that the fan either scanned or clicked.

Our sales trackers follow a "last click" attribution model meaning that we will attribute the final purchase to the last click that preceded the purchase, within a five-day window.

This means that you could have pushed two ads to a fan that they clicked on plus an email which was their "last click" before heading to your site to complete the purchase. Even though your fan still clicked on both ads, their interaction with the email was the last click before the purchase so it will get the attributed sale.

Pro Tip: Take these attributions with a grain of salt; we cannot definitively say if the email was a more compelling marketing asset or if the two preceding ads had already converted the fan and they just used the email as a link to complete the purchase.

Tradable Bits Sales Trackers can track:

  • IP address
  • order key
  • hostname (domain)
  • purchase amount
  • date of the trigger

Why should I use Sales Trackers?

Combine all these trackers and understand which of your multi-channel marketing initiatives are driving the most traffic and eventual conversions. This will allow you to determine the best split between the time and money you spend on each channel.

How do I set up a Sales Tracker?

Get familiar with the Trackers section of the platform under Know Your Fans and configure your own sale trackers here in the Tracker section of the Tradable Bits platform.

We recommend setting up a virtual domain first so that you can brand your tracker rather than using a TBits branded link.

Important: Sales Trackers work in conjunction with Landing Trackers and will not function properly alone. Ensure you've configured your Landing Trackers before proceeding.

Please note,  if you create ads, automated emails or SMS campaigns in the Tradable Bits platform, the system will automatically generate Landing Tracker links for you. Trackers can be used with any link - whether it’s an organic social post, an email campaign, or a paid advertising campaign.
