How to Setup a Virtual Domain

This article outlines how to set up a Virtual Domain which can be used for your Tradable Bits engagement campaigns, ad campaigns, and Tracker URLs.

A Virtual Domain can allow you to completely brand your campaign URL so that to fans it appears as if it's coming directly from your website.

You accomplish this using a CNAME, which is a variation of your core URL (ie: social.tradablebits.com), using You can also use an 'A' record to use a domain like tradablebits.com

There are a few technical steps that you must follow on your end in order to enable one of these features.

To create a CNAME record (ie: contest.tradablebits.com), follow these steps:

1) Gain access to your DNS (domain service) provider

2) Go to the page where you can create a CNAME (it may look different depending on your provider)

3) Enter in a CNAME that is short. For example, you could use "contest" so the virtual domain is contest.mydomain.com

4) Point this CNAME to 'virtual.tradablebits.com'

5) Now add this CNAME record

6) Notify your Tradable Bits Customer Success Manager when you've completed this process and share with them what the final URL is

7) The Tradable Bits team will enable the virtual domain in the back end of your account and contact you once this is completed. Please allow 2-3 business days for the Virtual Domain to appear in your account.

To create an 'A' record (ie: tradablebits.com), follow these steps:

1) Point the 'A' record in your DNS set up to: 72.28.92.171

2) Notify your Tradable Bits Partner Specialist when you've completed this process and what the final url is.

3) The Tradable Bits team will enable the virtual domain in the back end of your account and contact you once this is completed. Please allow 2-3 business days for the Virtual Domain to appear in your account.

Once your Customer Success Manager has enabled the Virtual Domain on the back-end of your Tradable Bits account, you will now see this option in the dropdown menus wherever a virtual domain option is available.
