Here's everything you need to know to properly use the Tradable Bits Authentication Services.
Can I see your ID, please?
The What:
Authentication Services is the section that helps you set up simple ways for your fans to log in and interact with certain campaigns. If you've got an app and would like the login details from the app to be passed on to Tradable Bits' campaigns, then this is the section that will enable you to do so.
The Why:
Authentication Service can help make your engagement campaigns easier to access for your fans by converting your entry gates into simple one-click solutions, as opposed to having fans enter their information repeatedly each time they would like to participate in a campaign.
Use Cases
- Set up a Single Sign-On for your website or app
- Set a singular login for your Engagement Scheduler
- Create an authentication mechanism for your live streams
The How:
Authentication Services is set up within your campaign business accounts. This means you can have different "one-click" sign-ins for each of your businesses (if you have a different business account for each of your sponsors, for example). To access the section, enter your desired business in Campaigns, expand the Authentication Services section and click on Configuration
Authentication Configuration
Your real work starts from the "Authentication Configuration" section. This section helps power the authentication screen that fans will engage with.
The following settings can be configured here:
-
Legal Terms & Privacy: This refers to the Terms of Use & Privacy Policy that fans will be subjected to if they complete the login/registration process.
-
Redirect URL for Client Authentication: If your Authentication service has been set up to require client-side authentication, then this is the field for your redirect URL which you would have had to pre-configure for security purposes.
-
Header Text: Text to be presented below the company logo on the log-in screen.
-
Custom CSS/Javascript: Login screens can be boring. Make it look a little fancy with some of your CSS/Javascript.
- Disable Password Creation Setup: Let your fans skip the process of setting up a password.
Verification Code Email Configuration
The next section that you'll want to set up is "Verification Code Email Configuration". This pertains to the email that is sent to fans when they want to verify their email. Fans are sent a code that they need to enter into the authentication flow to verify their login details.
You can customize the following settings:-
- Email Subject Line: The subject line of the email sent to fans.
- Email Header Text: The text presented to fans right below the company logo.
- Email Footer Text: The text presented to fans under the verification code in the email.
- Email Verification "From Name": While the email that is sending the mail will be "support@tradablebits.com" and that cannot be changed, however we can update the name associated with the email (which is usually what people would notice).
- Email Verification "Reply-To": The email to which any responses on the mail are forwarded.
Hit Save once you're done and your Authentication Service is good to go!
Auth Method & Technical Instructions
The last few sections on the page outline ways to integrate the authentication service into your existing website or apps. Contact your partner specialist to figure out which option works best for your use case and we will help you with the implementation of the same.
Authentication Results
The "Authentication Results" page (accessed by selecting "Authentication Results" from the menu on the left) measures how many new and returning fans are authenticating and how they authenticate (i.e. email, SMS, social login, etc). Note: Authentication is measured at the business level, therefore will include ALL instances of the Authentication Service for the specified time period.
- Successful Logins: Shows the proportion of new fans and returning fans that logged in. Note: The system considers unique logins for this count, and hence each fan is only considered once.
- Successful Verification: Shows the various verification mechanisms fans used to log in. Each verification attempt is counted. If a fan logged in 3 times using email, then email is counted as 3 for that fan. Other refers to verification through connected apps and social login, such as Spotify, Twitter, etc.
Authentication Summary: Shows a daily breakup of authentication attempts for the period filtered.
