Get familiar with this pillar of the Tradable Bits platform that lets you deep dive on your fans.
THE WHAT:
Fan CRM as a whole is an integrated customer relationship management (CRM) system that collects, sorts and activates your most relevant fan data from across platforms. In non “lingo-ey” terms, it’s the brains behind the entire Tradable Bits Platform. Go ahead, ask it the meaning of life, the universe and everything. It will tell you 42.
THE FUNCTIONALITY:
Fan CRM is your ticket to learning & absorbing more about your fans every time they interact with you. With Fan CRM you can:
-
Build out a Robust Single Fan View
-
Create Real-Time Segments for Marketing
-
Understand Aggregate Fan Trends
-
Uncover Your Hardcore Fans
FanCRM Sections:
When you're in the Manage Centre, the Fan CRM is at the top of the page under "Know Your Fans".
The most commonly used areas of this tool have shortcut buttons along the bottom. If you hit the three buttons on the far right, a dropdown will expand showing you all areas of the Fan CRM.

There are 5 core sections of the Fan CRM:
1. Search
2. Segments>Filters>Snapshots>Tags
3. Import
4. Setup>Core and Custom Fields>Fan Points>User Access Management
5. Reports>Stats>Fan Opt Outs> Fan Journeys
Keep reading below to learn more about each section.
Search
Beyond the above functionalities, most of our partners use search for the following reasons:
- Segmentation, Targeting & Advertising to Relevant Leads
- Analysis, Forecasting Future Fan Behaviour & Uncovering Insights
- Reporting (For internal teams and Sponsors)
There are endless ways to reveal the information that you are looking for in Search. The Fan CRM Search helps you action on all the data that the Fan CRM holds and organizes. This is where you go to pull out the exact information that you're looking for about your fans.
Get a detailed profile view of a single fan if you know their name or email, search by already created filters or cast a wide net and and narrow down your audience by using parameters.
Focus in on a single parameter or stack multiple to get even more specific. Hit Search at the bottom when you're satisfied or continue to narrow your search by populating more fields.
For more information on using the Fan CRM Search, check out this help guide here.
Segments
(Filters/Tags/Snapshots)
Filters are saved searches that help you organize fans.
Filters can be created by using one - or stacking many - parameters:
- General (Metro Area, Location, Zip/Postal Code, etc)
- Affinity (Idols & Related Idols)
- Activity (Campaigns or Businesses interacted with, Days Active/Inactive)
- Trackers (Network, Click Date Range, Key, Group)
- Purchases (Event Name, Purchase Date, Number of Seats, Sale amount, Price Code, etc)
- Registrations (Registered within, event name, price code, etc)
- Custom (advanced - use reg ex to customize your search)
For more information on creating and managing filters, check out this guide here.
Tags
Tags are a powerful tool for segmenting your fans & customers into audiences for future retargeting. Essentially, they're a very efficient "sticky note" that helps you keep track of what your fans are doing, so you can understand their habits, motivations and interests.
Example Use-Case: Search by tags to understand exactly which fans entered your sponsor campaigns so that you can effectively report on the ‘fruit’ of your relationship.
To learn more about tags, check out this guide here.
Snapshots
Like its namesake, a snapshot is your way to save a clear “picture” of stats from a filter you have created for that moment in time. Snapshots can be used to compare the same filter but at two different periods, or to analyze the overlap between different filters at the same time.
Example Use-Case: They are an excellent way to provide value to a sponsor by showing fan data before your event or contest and then compare it to a snapshot from after your event or contest.
To learn more about Snapshots, check out this guide here.
Import
If you're utilizing any of the Tradable Bits engagement tools, that data will flow into the Fan CRM but we also know that you may have a pile of historical data from before we met that you may want to add and act on inside Tradable Bits.
You can import your historical data directly into the Fan CRM either through a bulk import or by a single fan.
For more information on importing fans, check out this help guide here.
Setup:
(Core and Custom Fields/Fan Points/User Access Management)
Core and Custom Fields
Core fields are our standard fields on every campaign: First name, last name, email (or phone in some cases). Core fields are the building blocks of PII and in turn, your fan profiles. Custom Fields are additional pieces of information you can collect from your fans when they interact with your campaigns. Ask the questions you really want to know! Custom fields can be created in campaign set up as well as here in the Fan CRM. In the Fan CRM, you can view and edit all of the custom fields that you have created but be aware that wherever you create them, only fields that are created as Global are searchable in the Fan CRM.
For more information on custom fields, check out this help guide here.
Fan Points
A little friendly competition amongst fans never hurt anyone, right? Encourage your fans to participate more by awarding points, and rewarding winners. The Fan Points section of the platform allows you to create different point categories and track the progress that fans have made across different categories.
Manage and create point categories by visiting the Fan Points section under Fan CRM. To navigate to the section, go to your Fan CRM in your Manage Centre, select "Setup" and click on "Fan Points" once you've entered the page.
For more information on fan points, check out this help guide here.
User Access Management
In a perfect world of fandom, everyone would play nice but we know that isn't always the reality. Sometimes you may need to ban a user or an IP address from accessing your campaigns. Maybe it's a known bot spamming and skewing your results or a fan that you need to ban for compromising your community guidelines. That can all be taken care of in the Fan CRM under User Access Management.
Reports
Stats
The Stats section in Fan CRM is your ticket to understanding the demographic and psychographic behaviours of your fanbase, complete with easy-to-understand visualizations and filters to dig deeper.
For more information on fan stats, check out this help guide here.
Fan Opt Outs
This section of the Fan CRM will display a list of all the fans that have opted out from receiving marketing communications from you and will need to be excluded from receiving any contact SMS or email campaigns from your organization.
Fan Journeys
This is where you can quite literally map the paths that your fans take as they engage with your brand and visualize the touch-points that matter.
