How do I setup a Lineup Predictor campaign?

Here's a quick guide on how to setup your first Lineup Predictor campaign.

Lineup Predictor is the choice campaign to run before your Lineup Announcement. This campaign gives your fans the chance to ‘predict the lineup’ or create their dream lineup as their excitement for the festival grows, and you get to capture some Spotify affinity data based on their choices.

Lineup Predictor Example

When to use Lineup Predictor:

While the Lineup Predictor Campaign is most often used as a contest to Predict the Lineup in exchange for a prize , another popular way to use it is to get fans to choose their ideal lineup.

Using it this way, you can more strategically use fan answers to get a feel for their tastes, and who they’d like to see. Compare the top artists chosen by your fanbase with the market in general, and assign affinity to your fans so that if one of their favourite artists is on the lineup, you can target fans with ads more accurately.

We're outlining some campaign-specific details below. Follow this guide for more info on General Setup and other campaign basics.

General Setup

In General Setup, you'll be able to set your campaign name, your start and end time, how many times a fan can enter your campaign, any custom fields you’d like to ask from fans and your legal language for your campaign.

Authentication

For the Lineup Predictor campaign, Spotify authentication will be set as the default. While we recommend having Spotify auth to capture affinity data about your fans, you can also give fans the option to enter without Spotify by toggling on "Allow users without Spotify accounts to participate in campaign".

Enable Spotify Artist and Playlist Follow

This section allows you to automatically have all entrants follow a specified artist or playlist

Configuration

In the Configuration tab, you'll be able to choose whether you'd like to use the lineup predictor for fans to guess your lineup or choose who they'd like to see in your lineup.

Campaign Configuration

  • Correct Lineup Label: Here you can add the correct lineup via an Idol Label. This will not reveal the correct lineup publicly, but will allow you to see which fans picked correctly in campaign results. Labels can be configured in Idols > Labels. Label name will not be displayed publicly.

For more information on idols and creating labels review the following help guides:

  • Pick Limit: Choose how many artists a fan can pick in their lineup
  • Allow Changes: Allow fans to edit their lineup as many times as they wish until the campaign ends
  • Suggested Artists: This toggle will show suggested as fans make their picks

Reporting

After your fans have entered your campaign and submitted their guesses or preferences, navigate to Reporting > Results section.

Results

In the Results tab, if you choose a label to compare your fans answers to your correct lineup, you will now see two drop-downs:

  • Top Artists: This section shows the top artists picked by your fans. Use this section to see general trends of who your fans expect to see. You can use this section to add highly anticipated artists to your idols, to start tracking fan affinity for them.
  • Top Fan Entries: This section shows you the fans who have guessed closest to your actual lineup. You can use this section to award winners.
