Follow these quick steps to connect your Microsoft Dynamics account as a Tradable Bits integration.
Before you begin, you will need to acquire a swagger.json file from your CSM as well as have access to both your Tradable Bits account and a Microsoft Dynamics Power Automate account. We'll start with the Tradable Bits side then move on to the Power Automate steps!
Tradable Bits Side:
Start by logging in to your Tradable Bits account and clicking on your account icon in the top right corner of the page to open the Account dropdown menu.
Click on Security & Access, then select the API Keys option from the bar on the far left.
- Create new API key. Copy secret key
- Set up Outgoing MS Dynamics Integration
- Enter any name (keep note of this endpoint name, you will need it later on), paste secret key from step 1. Note, you will need this secret key for the PowerAutomate Side!
- Set up a source (either Tag, Account, Campaign)
- Press Save
PowerAutomate Side:
- Go to https://make.powerautomate.com/
- On the left panel, click “Custom connectors”
- -if you don’t see “Custom Connectors”, you may have to add it in by clicking “... More” -> discover all -> Custom Connectors (you could also click the pin to add it to the sidebar tab).
- Click New Custom Connector -> Import an OpenAPI file
- Put in anything for connector name
- Import the swagger.json file given to you by your CSM rep and click Continue
- Click Continue
- To make sure connector is set up properly, click Test -> New connection -> paste the secret API from Tradable Bits -> Create connection. Refresh the “Test” page and it should show your new connection.
- Test Operation by entering the “endpoint_name”. This should be the exact name from Step 3 on the Tradable Bits Side. Click “Test operation”.
- If connection is set up properly, you should see a “Status 200” in Response tab.
- Click “Update Connector” at the top right of the screen
Your custom connection is successfully set up!
Setting up a Scheduled Pull on PowerAutomate Side:
- On the left sidebar, click “My flows”
- Create a “New flow” -> Scheduled cloud flow
- Enter a Flow name.
- Make the flow repeat every X amount of time (for example, every 30 mins)
- Add a new “step” -> add an action
- In the Runtime dropdown, find and check “Custom” and click your custom connector -> click Fetch fans
- Under Advanced Parameters -> check body/endpoint_name -> enter the endpoint name (must be exact same as Tradable Bits Side step 3.)
- Press Save on the top right
- To see if it’s set up properly -> Click Test in the top right -> manually -> Test -> Run Flow
- Click the Flow Runs Page link. The Status of the Run History should show “Test Succeeded”
- If there are any issues, connect your CSM
You are now successfully connected!
