How do I set up an AWS S3 integration?

This quick guide will walk you through connecting your AWS S3 account to Tradable Bits for a seamless data transfer.

Before you begin, you will need access to both your AWS S3 and Tradable Bits accounts.

Set Up Steps:

We will begin on the AWS S3 side then finish the set up on the Tradable Bits side!

AWS S3 Side:

1. Follow Amazon's instructions to set up an S3 bucket

  • You can keep all settings as default when creating the bucket
  • The most important element to consider is the bucket name, as you will need this to set up your integration on Tradable Bits

2. Begin creating a policy by clicking Policies under the Identity and Access Management (IAM) section of the AWS console

3. Click Create Policy

4. Select S3 from the Services dropdown

5. Grant both ListBucket and PutObject access to the policy and click save

6. Create an IAM User by following Amazon's instructions here

You will need to specify your user details during this set up. They can be anything you choose but we recommend naming your user ‘tradablebits-integration’ or something similar so it is clear what this user is designated for.

7. Next, you will set the permissions. Select Attach Policies Directly and search to find the policy you just created

8. Navigate to the user profile

9.  Under the section Security Credentials -> Access Keys, create a new access key for the user

10. Select Third Party Service option

Save the Access Key and Secret Access Key somewhere secure. You will need it to complete the integration set up.

That's it for the AWS S3 side! Now, head to your Tradable Bits account to complete the set up.

Tradable Bits Side:

1. Login in to your Tradable Bits account and click on your account details in the top right corner

2. Select Integrations from the dropdown menu

3. Select Outgoing Integrations from the menu on the left

4. Click the +New button and select AWS S3 from the dropdown menu under Email

5. Input your Bucket Name, Access Key, and Secret Access Key that you generated and noted down during the final steps of set up on the S3 side

6. Click into the Manage Sources tab to select your source types and values. Click add

7.  Test your integration to ensure proper connection
