How do I create and edit events fields in my purchasing data?

How to cleanup/populate any duplicate, missing or re-used event fields in your purchasing data.

This is where you go to cleanse any duplicate, missing or reused event fields in your purchasing data. You can also add artists to ticket purchases for certain events, which you can later match to idols in idol cleanup.

The platform uses event_key value to match tickets & purchases to events.

  • If the event_key is found, the values for event name, event date, venue name & artist name will automatically populate
  • If the event_key is blank, a combination of event_date & event_name will be used to match venue_name and artist_name

Note: It’s important to regularly do event cleanup as some events may not have been properly labelled when set up in the ticketing platform.

Events

Events are mapped from your third-party sales integrations (i.e. events that include all mandatory fields to be fully searchable within the Tradable Bits Platform) OR events that you’ve previously cleaned up.

Events Summary

This section shows the number of events, the event key, artist, venue and their performance matches.

Search

Search by event name, date range, artist name, venue name, or network (where your event information is getting pulled from - i.e. Shopify, Frontgate etc). You can also group your results by date, artist or venue. Once you’ve set your search parameters, click “Search”.

Edit

This is where the cleaning up happens! Click on one of your events to see all “event details”. Here is where you can make edits to your events and change any of the event fields. You can also add notes to help you track any of your edits or give context to the rest of your team.

Be sure to hit Save  when you're done making your edits.

Create a New Event

If you cannot find an event within the events summary section, click on “+New Event” at the top of the page.

These are the following fields you will be required to fill out:

  • Network
  • Customer DSN
  • Event Name
  • Event Key
  • Event Date
  • Event Type
  • Venue
  • Performance
  • Artist
  • Idol Label
  • Notes on the Event

Once you fill out these fields, click “Save”.

Narrow your Search

If you are searching for a specific event (For example, you know a certain ticketing provider needs their events to be cleaned) you can narrow your results based on sources, networks, or you can search by event name or artist.

Notes:

  • The most common missing field is “artist_name,” where you can tie the appropriate artist to the event.
  • Editing event name will override any previous tickets & update to match your new setting
  • Editing venue name will only update incoming (new) tickets. If you want to update existing (old) tickets, use venue cleanup.
