How do I do a Price Codes Cleanup?

This guide will take you through how and when to use the Price Codes cleanup tool in the Sales section.

This is where you go to categorize & update your existing and incoming price codes. Use this section to categorize price codes for easier reporting & comparison, and/or to create category names to make sense of your data.

Use Case:

Not all ticketing providers are consistent with their price codes, which can make reporting difficult

For example, let’s say ticketing company A uses the term “PrimoVIP” for their highest bracket of ticket buyers, but company B uses “VIP-Platinum.” When reporting, you would likely classify the two different terms under the same ‘bucket’ of ticket buyers. WIth Price Code Cleanup, you can map the two together, so that they’re seen as equivalent price codes.

Section 1: Search

If you know the exact name of the ticket price code you’re searching for, you can enter it into the search field.

If not, leave the search bar blank and click ‘Search”. A chart of all your existing and incoming price codes will display with the Number of tickets sold and the dollar value of these tickets in CAD.

Section 2: Map your Price Codes

Select all the price codes you would like to map (to one destination) and click the  Add Mapping button at the top of the page.

You will see all selected Source Price Codes (these represent the price codes you are altering) and a blank field for Target Price Code (where you want all of your selected tickets to map to). Enter your Target Price Code and click Save.

Tip: Mapping tickets to a new price code will irreversibly change your ticketing data (i.e. any data previously associated with your “source price code” will only be searchable under your new “target price code”

Pro-Tip: You can map multiple price codes into one target price code.

Pro- Tip: To clear a price code, leave the target price code blank.
