The following guide will walk you through why you should build a custom form on your website for data capture and how to execute and test that it is working.
Why Build a Custom Form?
If you are planning to have a data capture form on your website to collect emails or phone numbers from your fans, it is recommended to build a custom form which connects via API with Tradable Bits rather than using a form from other endpoints and email providers.
Our platform was built to be flexible and intuitive for developers like you. You own all the data you collect with Tradable Bits. Our API and SDK are designed to make it easy to access your fan data, tickets and campaigns at any time, on your terms. Customize the front end of any of your forms with the help of our documentation, complete with examples. Our RESTful API helps you access, send or receive fan data from our system to your endpoints quickly and securely. Enrich your Fan CRM and Tickets Analytics with data from other CRM systems through our many integrations.
It's best practise to keep Tradable Bits as your central fan data CRM tool and push out any relevant information to third-party endpoints and tools. This also removes any manual processes to import data into Tradable Bits and streamlines your overall processes.
How to Build a Custom Form
The first thing you'll want to do is read our documentation on building a form for your website. This page provides a simple how-to on integrating a javascript driven opt-in form into your website as well as a fully functional example on embedding a signup form into your website, which will be fully integrated into your Tradable Bits CRM. How to Check that Your Form Data is Capturing
Once you've set up your form, go through the process of a form fill and hit submit. Once this has been completed, head into your Tradable Bits Fan CRM and search for that email. Once you've found the fan profile, click on it to ensure that all the data is properly being passed through (ie- email subscribed and phone subscribed) and double check that they have been tagged properly on the right-hand side of your profile (if you added a specific tag in the setup).
