Here's a quick explainer on locating and understanding the Fan Source section of fan profiles in your Fan CRM.
See how fans enter your database
Keep track of the actions that brought your fans into your database, so you can report on the successes of your marketing initiatives.
There are two main places where you can learn how fans enter your database:
- On the individual fan profiles
- As a search function in Fan CRM
Individual Fan Profiles
There is a new field called “Fan Source” in individual fan profiles. This source will show you if a fan entered your database through a campaign, a ticket purchase, a custom upload, etc.
- To view Fan Source in individual profiles head to the Fan CRM and click Search to get started
Please note: Fan Source is not retroactive. It will apply to the fan profile from March 2024 onwards. If this field is blank, the fan profile existed before Fan Source was created and the origin is unknown.
2. Generate a fan profile by entering a specific name, email or narrow down your list by using the search parameters to surface the fan profile that you are looking for. More info on using CRM Search here.
3. Select a fan profile and scroll down to the Fan Source field
Here you will see the source that brought that fan into your CRM!
Note: Fan profiles are primarily deduplicated using email addresses as the key identifier. If a matching email is found, new information is added to the existing profile. If no match is found, a new profile is created. Phone numbers and cookies also serve as secondary identifiers. Merging occurs only with 100% certainty based on shared identifiers to avoid combining distinct profiles incorrectly.
Fan CRM Search Function
The reverse method of an individual fan profile search is searching for all fans that entered your CRM through a source type. You can search for all fans who have entered your database through a campaign or other fan source by using Fan CRM Search and toggling on a specific function.
By campaign source:
- To do this, under the “Know your Fans” section, click into Fan CRM > Search.
- In the right-hand menu labelled Parameters click on Campaign Activity > Campaigns.
- Look for the toggle labelled "Search new fans from campaigns only". Toggle it on.
Save.
You can also find out what other non-campaign sources brought fans to your CRM by selecting the specific fan source from the dropdown under Parameters>Fan Metrics
2. Select your source and hit Search
