This quick guide will show you how and when to use the Sales Import section.
Connect existing workflows to the Tradable Bits Ecosystem.
The majority of your purchasing and registration data should come from integrations if possible. You can see all your existing third-party integrations in the “setup” section of sales.
If you have information that exists outside of your third-party integrations (historical data for example), you can import CSV files here. All sales & registration data (i.e. RFID/wristband) can be imported in the following two sections:
How to Import Sales Data
Import all purchasing data, including ticketing & merch.
Head to Sales>Import to get started.
We know purchasing data is powerful - it gives us insight into our fans’ behaviours and affinities. The sales import section exists so that you can integrate all relevant data into your FanCRM & the wider Tradable Bits platform to harness the power of this data. For our system to map your data effectively, each imported CSV file must follow a specific column structure:
Step 1: Upload your CSV file
Click “Import” and you will be prompted to upload your desired CSV file. Protip: Name the columns in your CSV to match the column fields allowed by Tradable Bits. This will match all fields on import. See the table above for all permissible column fields.
Step 2: Match your Appropriate Fields
Once you upload your CSV file, you will be presented with the following page: Import Review
As you can see, the import review page details the total number of rows pulled in from your CSV file and whether your file meets the mandatory requirements to confirm upload into Tradable Bits.
Mandatory Fields for purchase import include:
-
Fan Email
-
Purchase Amount (total the fan paid for purchase)
-
Purchase Date (recommended in the format YYYY-MM-DD)
The import review page also includes a table where you are required to match your CSV file column “headers” to our Tradable Bits “data fields”.
For example: in your CSV file, you have a column named “Ticket ID.” If you want to import this column’s data into Tradable Bits, you will have to “match” it to the appropriate Tradable Bits field. In this case, it would likely be “Ticket Key”.
If you do not want to import a certain column into Tradable Bits/ cannot find an appropriate match, choose “ignore” as your field.
Once you have matched all relevant columns to Tradable Bits’ fields - including your mandatory fields - you have the option to tag the fans in this CSV file with a special identifier, and/or the ability to tie these fans to a specific campaign. To confirm your upload you must tick the checkbox declaring that the imported CSV is first-party data owned by your organization.
Step 3: Click Confirm
Click “Confirm” at the bottom of the page. Once your upload is complete, you will be directed to an import summary page that details sales processed, new sales, existing sales, and any errors tied to your CSV file by row number. Review your import, and address any outstanding errors before clicking “complete”.
Step 4: Complete Import
Once you are satisfied with the information you’re pulling in with your CSV file, click “complete”. You will be redirected to the “sales stats” page where you can verify your imported data with a quick search. To do this, go to “source,” choose ‘import’ from its dropdown menu and press search. You will see the information associated with your CSV import.
