This guide will walk you through creating a tag to categorize fans based on their activity.
What is a Tag?
A tag, often referred to as a static tag, is a label used to categorize fans based on their activity within a campaign or from a manual import.
Unlike 'smart tags' that dynamically update automatically, static tags remain fixed once applied, helping you segment audiences based on specific behaviours or campaign participation.
It's a great way to organize your fans for targeted marketing or retargeting efforts.
How to Create a Tag
There's two ways you can create a Tag:
1. From the Fan CRM > Segments> Tags section by selecting the 'New Tag' button at the top right.
2. Another way to create a tag is to navigate to the Fan CRM > Search and utilize the search criteria in the right-hand menu to define the specific conditions for your desired audience
3. Click Search or Estimate Fan Count to compare the number of fans with your expectations and review the audience
4. Now that you have reviewed your audience, click on Tag/Untag on the menu bar below your Search Parameters
5. To create a new tag, select Add fans to a new tag. You will then be asked to create a New Tag Name. Once named, click Create Static Tag.
To find all your created tags, navigate to the Fan CRM > Segments > Tags. All your tags will be listed there.
