# Why does the province/state field populate all global areas and not my country?
## Here's a quick explainer on how to localize your province/state fields.
If you have built a campaign recently and asked for fans to select their province/state, you may be wondering why the selection options are an alphabetized list of global provinces/states nowhere near you or your target audience.
If you only want the states/provinces to show for your country, you will need to add a Country field to your campaign as well so it will only pull from provinces/states in the selected country instead of globally.
This cannot be custom automated through IP detection as it does not work for participants using VPNs, fans in-venue or entering from a place other than where they live.
