Can I remove the Cookie Pop Up?

This guide will walk you through how to bypass the Tradable Bits cookie warning when you embed a campaign on your website.

What you will need:

  • A virtual domain tied to your "parent entity" - i.e. a virtual domain tied to the website you want to place the Tradable Bits campaign on.

To bypass the cookie warning when you embed a campaign on your website, you will need to create a virtual domain. This virtual domain will then be used within the embed code you use to embed your campaign on your website.

What is a virtual domain?

You can read the full guide on the what, why and how of virtual domains in this guide here: How to Set Up a Virtual Domain

How to bypass the cookie warning on embedded campaigns

What "bypassing" the cookie warning means:

Not seeing "double". Instead of seeing one cookie warning on your website, and another cookie warning within the iframe of your embedded campaign, "by-passing" the cookie warning by using a virtual domain means that your fans will only see the cookie warning on your main parent website.

How you do this: Walking through an Example

Let's say I want to embed my campaign on www.whatskraken.ca (the parent entity). These are the steps I would need to take to by-pass the cookie warning:

  1. Create a virtual domain tied to the parent entity. In this case, for example, I could create the following virtual domain: contests.whatskraken.ca.

  2. In the Misc. Section of the campaign set-up, scroll down to the Domain/Share/Namespace Customization section. In that section you will see a field labelled Virtual Domain. Choose the virtual domain you've created (i.e. contests.whatskraken.ca) from the drop-down, and apply it to your campaign.

  1. With the virtual domain applied to your campaign, our system will automatically switch out the url refrenced in the embed code You can find the embed code for websites on the Publishing Section of each campaign. If the URL you see in the Tradable Bits Embed Code doesn't match your virtual domain, try re-freshing your page.

Pros: Your fans will not see double. Instead of getting one cookie warning from the website, and then again inside the iframe, fans will just see one cookie warning.

Important Notes:

This method of by-passing the Tradable Bits cookie warning does not work on incognito broswers. This is because incognito browsers prevent cookies from being passed.
